‘Day Drinking Again’: Nancy Pelosi Ridiculed For Claiming Inflation Bill Will Appease ‘Mother Earth’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took some criticism on Saturday for her comments about the recently-passed Inflation Reduction Act — which is set to funnel over $350 billion into implementing policies focused on combating climate change and addressing environmental justice concerns.

Pelosi’s comments came on the heels of the measure passing both the Senate and the House — along party lines — and she appeared to suggest that appeasing “Mother Earth” was a priority in getting the measure across the finish line. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill into law upon his return from South Carolina.

“How can they vote against the planet?” Pelosi asked of the Republicans who opposed the sweeping legislation — which also provided funding to add some 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents to the fold despite promises that there would be “no new audits” for Americans whose income fell below a certain threshold.

“Mother Earth — Mother Earth gets angry from time to time,” Pelosi continued. “And this legislation will help us to address all of that.”

“So literately faith based legislation,” Aaron Walker tweeted in response.

WMAL’s Julie Gunlock suggested that Pelosi was “day drinking again.”

“Instead of ‘Mother Earth’s’ anger. Perhaps ‘good Catholics’ Pelosi and Biden should both be a good bit more worried about the wrath of ‘Father God’ … ?” @VRWCTexan added, referencing the two Democrats’ radical positions on abortion.

“For the love of dad. This is what regression looks like,” actor Mark Pellegrino responded.

“We are back to primitive animism here,” Dinesh D’Souza argued. “The ship sank because the ocean was in a bad mood. Thunder struck because the clouds were having a violent disagreement with each other. Ancient people, however, weren’t dumb enough to think ‘laws’ could change the course of nature.”

“Wouldn’t some flowers and a box of chocolates be more effective and less expensive?” @MaryForbes14 asked, calling the whole thing a #ClimateScam.

“#Marxists are only happy when they a wasting other people’s money. Look at Raskin, having a ‘moment,’” @WilkowMajority pointed out.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) panned the bill in a lengthy address just before it passed the House.

“Today the majority jams through another spending spree. I believe the largest tone-deaf bill we’ve seen in this chamber in 230 years,” he said. “Passing this bill today means more expensive bills for Americans tomorrow.”
