President-elect Donald Trump‘s sweeping win on Tuesday has sparked protests among those who took issue with him and voted for his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris.

Liberals angry over Trump’s historic win took to the streets in several cities. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, protesters met at city hall late Wednesday, with some carrying flags from the former Soviet Union, in an allusion to fascism.

In Chicago, a large group of protesters take over its streets by marching down to the Trump International Hotel Tower to chant outside. Some chanted “F*** Donald Trump” while others held signs that read: “Trump out” and “Victory to the Palestinian Resistance.”

An hourlong protest in Cleveland, Ohio, disrupted traffic. One protester’s sign read: “No election can legitimize fascism.”

Even though Trump won Louisiana’s eight electoral votes, a small group of people upset with the outcome gathered in New Orleans. The protesters there took on the cause of police reform, worker’s rights, and immigrants’ legalization in Lafayette Square Wednesday night.

A combination of protesters from Freedom Road Socialist Organization and University of Washington Students for a Democratic Society took to the streets of Seattle to protest the two-party system. Those who appeared lamented that neither candidate suited them and instead took up the cause of Palestinians suffering in Gaza.

A similar protest broke out in San Jose, California, that was planned for Wednesday night no matter who won the election. Another protest in neighboring Berkley, California, also opposed Trump’s proposals when it comes to Israel. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) encouraged protesters.

“Not. Going. Quietly. You’re not either. Let’s get loud. And let’s get going,” Swalwell wrote on X.

Additional protests are planned for Thursday night in Jacksonville, Florida, where the Community Action Committee will meet at the Duval County Courthouse to protest abortion bans, the war in Gaza, and mass deportation, among other things.

However, Washington, D.C., has yet to report any unrest in the streets. Businesses all along the nation’s capital boarded up their windows in anticipation of riots but have since taken them down. Washington, D.C., Metro Police remain working 12-hour shifts in case of protests.
