President Donald Trump on Sunday proclaimed that his endorsement power is “stronger than ever,” ahead of several pivotal primary runoff elections set for this week that he has become involved in.
Trump highlighted data he said showed candidates he has endorsed during the 2026 political cycle have had a 97% success rate so far, which is comparable to Ballotpedia’s 96% rating. The president’s comments come shortly before likely close elections in the Oklahoma governor’s race and the South Carolina U.S. Senate contest put his endorsement power to the test once again on Tuesday.

“My Endorsements are stronger than ever — Not to mention the fact that good people are getting elected that never had the chance!” Trump said in a post to Truth Social. “There has never been anything close! It is an Honor that I take very seriously.”
The president’s statement comes ahead of Tuesday’s primary runoff election in South Carolina, where he has backed Republican Sen. Darline Graham Nordone to fill her late brother’s seat permanently. Graham Nordone is believed to be in a tight race ahead of her runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), after leading the Aug. 11 primary by 8 points.
In Oklahoma, Trump is backing former state Sen. Mike Mazzei, who finished less than 1 percentage point behind state Attorney General Gentner Drummond in the June Republican primary. Trump has repeatedly expressed support for Mazzei due to accusations that Drummond is a “fake Republican,” opposes “the Biggest Aluminum Plant in the Country” being brought to Oklahoma, and sued “to BLOCK a religious based charter school strongly supported by my Administration.”

Around 12 candidates the president has endorsed have lost this cycle, including several high-profile congressional and gubernatorial contenders. This week, Trump dismissed losses faced by Reps. Cory Mills (R-FL) and Andy Ogles (R-TN), each seeking reelection, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones (R-GA), who ran for Georgia governor, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette (R-SC), who ran for South Carolina governor, and other candidates, saying they were long-shot bids all along and that he only endorsed out of loyalty.
“The few that lost were done out of loyalty. It was almost impossible for them to win but, I felt obligated to go with them because they were, in my opinion, good people!” Trump said.
