Former President Donald Trump is setting his sights on unseating one of only two remaining Republican representatives who voted to impeach him.

In November, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, will face Trump-backed Jerrod Sessler in Washington’s most conservative district. After voting to impeach Trump, Newhouse now faces the renewed wrath of the former president, who urged voters to vote for Sessler.

“[Sessler] is running against a Weak and Pathetic RINO named Newhouse, who voted to, for no reason, Impeach me,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Newhouse has to go! He wished he didn’t do what he did, but it’s too late, and besides that, he didn’t represent the people nearly as well as Jerrod will. Jerrod will do an incredible job – He is MAGA all the way, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”

Newhouse survived a primary challenge in August, with him and Sessler taking the two top spots on the ticket, moving them forward to November.
