Stephen A. Smith said Thursday that President Donald Trump is gaining “traction” with Democratic voters as the Left’s lawmakers continue to put politics ahead of policy.

“Trump is gaining traction within the Democratic Party. Black voters, young voters,” Smith said during an appearance on Fox News’s Hannity. “He did it during the election, but the trajectory seems to be going in a forward direction.”

Smith said that Trump’s apparent gains among Democratic voters come at a time when Democratic politicians such as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and liberals in Congress push a “counterproductive” anti-Trump message.

“They haven’t realized yet that if it’s AOC or it’s Jasmine Crockett … there’s a reason Sean Hannity shows them every chance he gets,” Smith said.

“He wants them to be illuminated. He wants them to be front and center for the Democratic Party because it will ensure that the Republicans are gonna win in 2026 and 2028.”

The ESPN host did not fault Sean Hannity for his coverage, and said it shows how “tone-deaf” lawmakers such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) are.

COULD STEPHEN A. SMITH BE DEMOCRATS’ 2028 VERSION OF TRUMP?

“Their focus seems to be on doing anything, being the antithesis of Trump, instead of helping to govern the country,” he said.
