President Donald Trump had his McDonald‘s lunch delivered to the Oval Office by “DoorDash grandma” on Monday.
The president grinned as he accepted two large bags of McDonald’s from Sharon Simmons, whom he met with as part of an initiative to promote his “No Tax on Tips” policy, which was signed into law as part of the “One, Big Beautiful Bill.”

When Trump greeted her at the Oval Office door, he said: “This doesn’t look staged, does it?”
The Trump administration has been promoting its domestic policies ahead of Tax Day, while his efforts in Iran remain unpopular with voters.
Simmons told Trump the policy allowed her to take home an extra $11,000 before the president siloed her into an impromptu press conference. During it, he talked about Cuba, Iran, the “rigged” 2020 election, and the upcoming White House UFC fight.
“We’ve got the great big beautiful bill. We should call it the great big, beautiful tax cut bill, because it’s a tremendous amount of money, and that’s overtime,” Trump said. “That’s also on Social Security, as you know, and it’s pretty amazing.”
“Would you like to do a little news conference with many of these people? These are not the nicest people?” he asked Simmons. “You’re really nice.”
At one point, Trump asked Simmons her thoughts on banning “men in women’s sports,” which she sidestepped.
“[Democrats] can’t get elected with their policy,” Trump said. “So their policy is no good. They want to have, I mean, open borders. They want to have men playing in women’s sports. Do you think that men should play in women’s sports?”
“I really don’t have an opinion on that,” the delivery driver responded. “I’m here about tax on tips,” Simmons said.
Trump also invited Simmons and her husband, who is currently in the hospital being treated for cancer, to come to the UFC fight on the Ellipse this summer.

Trump has long been a fan of McDonald’s, even working a shift at a Pennsylvania franchise during his 2024 campaign. The president’s proclivity for junk food has earned him laughs from the country’s health chief, who recently joked that Trump “had the constitution of a deity.”
“The interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food, which is McDonald’s, and, you know, candy and Diet Coke,” Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said during a January appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast. “I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is.”
THE ERA OF AMATEUR VATICANOLOGY DAWNS IN THE UNITED STATES
In an October 2025 podcast interview, Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters ruminated over how he was shocked by the amount of McDonald’s that Trump ate during the 2024 campaign.
Trump had “hot fries waiting for him from McDonald’s. Then he had a Filet-O-Fish, a Quarter Pounder, and a Big Mac,” Gruters said. “I think he combined two of them.”
