President Donald Trump’s approval rating is heading into record territory, rising above the four years of lackluster numbers of his first term, as the public gives him credit for his first 100 days of action.

A joint survey from Insider Advantage and Trafalgar, just out Tuesday morning, pegged his approval at 55% and disapproval at 44%, a reversal of the numbers he faced in his first term.

The poll was among the first to follow Trump’s trip to the Middle East last week, in which he cut trillions of dollars in deals and shifted American foreign policy from policing the globe to bringing pariah countries into the world community.

Insider Advantage pollster Matt Towery suggested in his analysis that his survey is leading a trend seen in other polls that show a steady increase in Trump’s approval ratings.

“These results are not a surprise. Other pollsters who accurately polled election cycles where President Trump’s name appeared on the ballot have been showing his approval ratings moving into the 50%-plus range,” he wrote.

While readers may note that some media surveys show lower ratings for Trump, both Insider Advantage and Trafalgar beat out the media pollsters for top honors in calling the 2024 election right.

Rasmussen Reports, included with Insider Advantage and Trafalgar in the top five “most valuable” 2024 polls listed by ActiVote, has also had Trump averaging about 50% approval in its daily surveys over the past few weeks.

In his analysis, Towery credited the Trump surge to undecided respondents finally taking a position on the president after three months of judging his actions.

“Since then, those undecideds have moved heavily towards approval of President Trump’s job performance,” Towery said.

“Trump enjoys a positive rating from all age groups other than seniors. His support among other demographics are similar or above the level of support seen in our final battleground poll of battleground states in 2024,” he added.
