Comedian and podcast host Theo Von requested that the Department of Homeland Security take down a video featuring him, asking the department to “send a check.”

The DHS posted a video for the Trump administration‘s work in deporting 2 million illegal immigrants over 250 days. The video begins with Von saying into a phone camera, “Heard you got deported, dude … Bye!” and ends with the words “leave now.”

“Yooo DHS i didn’t approve to be used in this. I know you know my address so send a check. And please take this down and please keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos. When it comes to immigration my thoughts and heart are alot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!” Von said on X.

Von spoke about the viral Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Los Angeles in June on his podcast, This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von. He said he thought most of the videos of the raids were “staged” and it’s “heartbreaking” when children are “taken from their parents.”

Von also said the United States is coming off a “huge influx” of immigrants under the Biden administration and has had a “broken system for a long time.” As such, Von said it would be “messy” when the “guillotine” came down.

“And I know Trump spoke the other day that there needs to be a way, and I believe wholeheartedly, there needs to be a way where people who are productive citizens are allowed to get amnesty or create a path for them to have citizenship. I believe that, undeniably,” Von said.

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were both guests on Von’s podcast ahead of the 2024 election, one of the many podcast appearances Trump made in an attempt to win over young male voters. Vance also returned to the podcast in June as Trump and Elon Musk’s friendship soured.

Von was also a guest at Trump’s inauguration in January. He went viral after his chair broke during the ceremony. The comedian also dined with Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, and her husband, Jared Kushner, in May.

The DHS’s video featuring Von is part of the department’s larger meme campaign on social media. On Monday, the department compared catching illegal immigrants to the Pokémon franchise.
