Sarah Huckabee Sanders Will Become Fox News Contributor

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will become a contributor for Fox News.

Sanders, who was the press secretary for nearly two years, will make her debut on Fox & Friends during its next live audience show on Sept. 6.

“FOX News has been the number one news organization in the country for 17 years running and I am beyond proud to join their incredible stable of on-air contributors in providing political insights and analysis,” Sanders said, according to a Fox News press release.

She spent from January of 2017 through that July as the deputy press secretary under Sean Spicer. Sanders was then promoted to press secretary, and remained in that role until she stepped down last month and was replaced Stephanie Grisham.

Prior to her time in the White House, Huckabee — the daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who is also a Fox News contributor — served as a senior adviser to GOP Sen. Tom Cotton in 2014 when he defeated incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Pryor. She was also the campaign manager for Republican Sen. John Boozman in 2010 when he defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln. Over a decade ago, she, as national political director, helped lead her father to victory in the Iowa caucuses and seven other states.

Sanders is also contemplating a run for the governor of Arkansas. The president publicly supported the idea on Twitter when he announced she was leaving her post.

He tweeted, “She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!”
