If the taxpayer-subsidized Public Broadcasting Service wants to know what’s behind the ire of Republicans and the MAGA movement, it only has to look at its daily lineup of guests.

That would show the liberal outlet’s NewsHour show favors liberals by about 4-to-1.

And of the Republicans it features in its news, many are critics of President Donald Trump.

According to a new analysis of guests on NewsHour by the watchdog Media Research Center, “liberal-Democratic leaning guests outnumbered conservative-Republican leaning guests by 173-41, a ratio of 4.2-to-1.”

That rate is higher than when former President Joe Biden was in office.

Also, the MRC analysis said, nearly half of the Republican officials giving their views on the show since Inauguration Day were anti-Trump. Meanwhile, “of 24 total appearances by Democratic officials, none were pro-Trump.”

The new report offered a view on why Republicans are eager to end taxpayer support for PBS and National Public Radio. It said, “As demonstrated, the NewsHour guest list was dominated by radical professors, disgruntled Democratic bureaucrats, and legacy media liberals — an unwise stance for a tax-funded network that operates (for now) under a congressional mandate to maintain ‘strict adherence to objectivity and balance in all programs or series of programs of a controversial nature.’”

Trump recently signed an executive order to ban federal funds from the liberal networks because of their bias against Republicans. The networks have since sued to keep the cash flow open.
