Miami Mayor Francis Suarez presented President Donald Trump with a key to the city on Wednesday, suggesting that Trump will build his presidential library there.

Trump traveled to Miami to commemorate the anniversary of his second election win, when Suarez joined Trump onstage before the American Business Forum to present the president with the golden key.

“Thank you for choosing our city to host what is perhaps the most important and consequential gathering of leaders from around the world. Miami has come a long way. We will rise to the occasion Mr. President,” Suarez said. “You like real estate right?

“I do,” Trump said.

“This is a key to open some really nice presidential library real estate,” Suarez said.

Judicial Circuit Judge Mavel Ruiz ruled last month to temporarily block the transfer of land in downtown Miami to be used for Trump’s future presidential library. Ruiz ruled that the Miami Dade College Board of Trustees did not provide a “reasonable” notice before it voted in September to transfer the land to Trump.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) announced plans for Trump’s presidential library on the same day as the board voted to give up the land to the state.

Suarez gifted the key as the outgoing mayor.

None of the 13 candidates vying to replace Suarez received the majority vote in Tuesday’s election, prompting a runoff election. The two candidates who earned the most votes, Democratic candidate Eileen Higgins and Republican candidate Emilio Gonzalez, will participate in a runoff election on December 9.
