Maybe They Just Don’t Like Cowboys: The President Is Successful, Some Just Don’t Like His Style

“Them that don’t know him won’t like him, and them that do sometimes won’t know how to take him. He ain’t wrong, he’s just different. But his pride won’t let him do things to make you think he’s right.”

So go the words from one of my favorite songs, “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys.” I suppose I can understand how people that don’t like cowboys also don’t like the way President Trump approaches problems that others have failed to solve. However, I don’t understand how anyone who ever supported the Republican platform can now support the platform of the DNC and their presidential nominee, Joe Biden.

The Democratic platform that John Kasich, Jeff Flake, and other “Republicans” now embrace flies in the face of principles they claimed to have once believed in. A platform that provides taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, including late-term; puts every American on Medicare, virtually eliminating private insurance; implements Green New Deal programs that stifle economic growth; opens our borders to allow anyone to walk into this country, regardless of the security threat it poses; supports cities who refuse to comply with federal immigration laws; erodes First and Second Amendment protections for speech, religion, and the right to bear arms; discourages American ingenuity through burdensome federal regulations and taxation; and the list goes on and on.

The Democratic platform not only creates a culture of dependency within America, but it also leaves our nation dependent on other countries for energy, health care, and our food supply. President Trump has worked the last four years towards a goal of self-determination and opportunity for all. While sometimes unconventional, he has still been effective and made great strides for our country and the next generation. Under President Trump’s leadership, we’ve been able to usher in historic policy changes: reforming the criminal justice system; eliminating burdensome federal regulations on businesses and private citizens; dedicating billions to combat the opioid epidemic; signing historic tax reform which allowed unprecedented economic growth; investing in American energy independence; striking a blow to ISIS and Iran’s senior military leadership; brokering peace in the Middle East; opening new international markets for Americans goods and services; investing in our military; and much more.

Despite all of these accomplishments under President Trump, he and his family have ben under constant attack because “those that don’t know him won’t like him and them that do sometimes won’t know how to take him.” They may not like how President Trump uses a wet vac instead of a napkin to clean up the spilled milk, but someone has to do it. He gets the job done. “He ain’t wrong, he just does things different.”

If their hatred for President Trump and his style of leadership runs so deep that they not only sabotage his administration and our country but also abandon what they claim as their long-held principles to pony up with Joe Biden, then they need to be riding with the DNC. Maybe they have been all along, or maybe they just don’t like cowboys.
