Republican National Committee co-chairwoman Lara Trump vowed to prosecute election fraudsters as the group begins ramping up to monitor the 20204 election closely.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA conference in Detroit, Michigan, Trump warned of election fraud and outlined the RNC’s efforts to combat it in this year’s presidential election.

“This year is the year we do it,” Lara Trump said at Turning Point USA’s Detroit convention. “We are also sending a loud and clear message out there to anyone who thinks about cheating in an election: we will find you, we will track you down, and we will prosecute you to the full extent of the law.”

“What we need to ensure is integrity in our electoral process,” she added. “We can never go back and repeat 2020, but we can learn the lessons from 2020.”

The scale of the effort is massive — Trump announced the effort would include “over 100,000 poll watchers and over 500 lawyers.” The RNC will also set up hotlines allowing poll watchers to report issues quickly and efficiently. After her conference remarks, about 75 potential volunteer poll watchers attended training on potential threats on Election Day. The press was not given access to the training or materials.

RNC co-chairman Michael Whatley dismissed concerns that the deployment of poll watchers could lead to the harassment of election workers, as many Democrats warned.

Aside from election integrity efforts, the RNC has focused much attention on voter education and encouraging early voting, despite previous hang-ups over the process.

The focus on voting integrity is largely the doing of former President Donald Trump, Lara Trump’s father-in-law, who still alleges widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.
