Vice President JD Vance reflected on his appearance on The View during a Thursday press conference about the negotiations with Iran, where he said he and co-host Joy Behar have a new friendship.
“Joy Behar is way tougher than the Iranians, and she and I are best friends now,” Vance said.
Vance appeared on The View on Tuesday to promote his new book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.
Vance is the first Republican vice president to speak on The View. The six co-hosts grilled Vance on topics including immigration, affordability, and President Donald Trump.
After his appearance, Behar said Vance was “intelligent” and “not a bad guy.”

During the press conference on Thursday, Vance also addressed criticisms questioning his experience in high-stakes negotiations, including doubts about his qualifications.
“I would point those progressive critics to the fact that just two days ago, I spent over an hour on The View, so I actually have great experience in very hostile negotiations,” Vance said.
