Henry Winkler, AKA ‘Fonzie,’ Tweets Contemptuously At Those Boycotting Disney World

On Sunday night, actor Henry Winkler, best known for playing “Fonzie” on “Happy Days,” expressed his leftist contempt by apparently targeting parents boycotting Disney theme parks because of the company’s stances on Florida’s bill banning classroom conversations on gender and sexual orientation and after a Disney executive producer discussed implementing her “not-at-all secret gay agenda” in a children’s show.

Winkler tweeted contemptuously, “For 51 years your parents took you … & YOU took your kids to @Disney World. Anyone damaged? Come on.”

Disney World opened on October 1, 1971.

On March 25, Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 1467, which requires school districts to be transparent in the selection of instructional materials, including library and reading materials. He stated, “In Florida, our parents have every right to be involved in their child’s education. We are not going to let politicians deny parents the right to know what is being taught in our schools. I’m proud to sign this legislation that ensures curriculum transparency.”

“The bill bans the use of any instructional materials in classrooms, in school libraries, or on school reading lists that are ‘pornographic’ or ‘not suited to student needs and their ability to comprehend the material presented, or is inappropriate for the grade level and age group for which the material is used,’” WPTV noted, adding, “The measure allows parents to review a school district’s instructional materials and library books and lodge objections if they believe the subject matter violates state standards or is inappropriate for students.”

Winkler then ripped DeSantis, tweeting, “Mr. DeSantis had the opportunity to read ALL the books he wants Banned. Correct?? A LESS educated population makes Less noise.”

Winkler also retweeted a tweet calling DeSantis “absolute garbage” after DeSantis visited the University of South Florida to announce funds for education in cybersecurity and told students behind the podium that they could take off their face masks.

“You do not have to wear those masks,” DeSantis said. “I mean, please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything and we’ve gotta stop with this COVID theater. So if you want to wear it, fine, but this is, this is ridiculous.”

Winkler retweeted this:

In 2017, Hugh Hewitt said to Winkler, “The depiction of President Trump in media and culture is uniquely hostile. Do you agree with that?” Winkler answered, “I agree that he has created, self-imposed — Donald Trump has imposed a veneer that keeps him like he is in bubble wrap. Like he is not connected, or doesn’t have the empathy to be connected and has created this thing where — do we love to hate him? I don’t love hating him because I wish it was different.” Hewitt asked, “Do you have anything good to say about Donald Trump?” Winkler answered, “I’ll get back to you on that.”
