MILWAUKEE— Donald Trump Jr. reflected on his father, Donald Trump, and his survival after a failed assassination attempt wounded his ear while lambasting President Joe Biden over growing concerns his mental acuity is decreasing due to old age.

“What was my father’s reaction when his life was on the line? Not to cower, not to surrender, but to show for all the world to see that the next American president has the heart of a lion,” Trump said of the failed attempt against his father’s life on Saturday.

“When he stood up the world with blood on his face and the flag in his back, the world saw the spirit that could never be broken,” he also said.

Trump claimed the GOP would fight back on election day by re-election his father after he praised the former president for being tough. “And the good news is: America is Trump tough,” he said before the crowd broke out in chants of “Trump!”

In a sweet moment of family unity, Trump introduced his eldest daughter Kai Trump at the Republican National Convention, one day after sister-in-law and RNC co-chair Lara Trump addressed the crowd. Kai Trump praised her grandfather and pushed back against media reporting on the former president. “Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you,” Kai Trump said. Her father’s fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle also addressed the convention just hours before Trump Jr. appeared onstage.

As Biden struggles against growing Democratic calls to step down from the ticket, Trump lobbied some of his harshest comments against him onstage and taunted him over a failed progressive legislation.

“Remember Build Back Better? Instead, we got ‘Broke Bumbling Biden.’ Nothing is built. Nothing is back and nothing is better,” Trump said. He then pondered who was in charge at the White House implying Biden cannot effectively lead the nation.

“And honestly who is actually running the country anyway? It’s obviously not Joe Biden?” Trump questioned. “Seriously who is running things? Does anyone really know? Is it Jill? Is it Hunter? Barack Obama”

Democrats have remained split as many lawmakers and voters push for Biden to step away from the 2024 ticket but Biden has remained adamant he will not back down.
