The current weather outside in Chicago is -21 and with a 22 mph headwind so the wind chill it supposedly feels like -51. Let that just sink in for a moment. How long can a person survive outside in those temperatures. We hope everyone in the midwest is safe and doing there best to stay warm on this day. The coldest recorded temperature in the USA is fairbanks Alaska at -79.8 and in the contiguous US is in Montana at -69.7.
So this is not the coldest day in history however this is most likely going to be the the coldest day of the year.
