Over $6.4 million has been raised for victims shot during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally last Saturday.

One rally attendee, Corey Comperatore, was killed during the shooting, and two others were left critically wounded. The GoFundMe fundraiser was created in the aftermath to assist the victims, ostensibly with Trump’s stamp of approval. Less than a week later, the fundraiser had raised nearly $6.5 million for the victims.

“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” a description on the website reads. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.”

The total is well over the initial fundraising target of one million dollars.

As of writing, investigators still haven’t confirmed a motive from the shooter, who was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump barely survived the assassination attempt, with a bullet grazing his ear.

James Copenhaver, 74, and David Dutch, 57, arrived at the hospital following the shooting in “critical condition,” but as of Wednesday, their conditions were upgraded to “serious.”
