Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was escorted out of the House chamber after he disrupted President Donald Trump’s joint address before Congress.
Green stood up during the address, yelling, “You have no mandate,” as Republicans began booing and chanting “USA” to try to drown him out.
After Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) repeatedly asked for order and for members to maintain decorum, the speaker finally asked the sergeant-at-arms to escort Green out of the chamber.

Green, who has repeatedly filed articles of impeachment against Trump, continued to yell as he left while Republicans cheered and laughed.
He told reporters afterward that his statement was in reference to proposed Medicaid cuts. Trump has said the entitlement program will not be slashed in GOP legislation later this year except for “waste, fraud, and abuse.”
“It’s worth it to let people know that there are some people who are going to stand up,” Green said.
WHAT IS DOGE? WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY
As the address was starting, several Democrats held up signs that said “Save Medicaid,” “Protect Veterans,” and “Musk Steals.” As the speech continued, Democrats laughed during some of Trump’s remarks or shouted out one-liners.
