Muslim Couple Gets 7 Years in Prison in Texas Child Slavery Case

What price should be paid for depriving a human being of 16 years of their freedom? American courts aren’t really set up to answer the question. Slavery hasn’t been an issue here in a long time.

But under the pressure of Islamic immigration, it’s coming back.

Jihad Watch first covered the Texas slave case last year.

A Texas couple with deep political connections in the West African country of Guinea was charged Thursday with forced labor after a young woman they allegedly enslaved for more than 16 years managed to escape their home in Southlake with help from neighbors.

Mohamed Toure and Denise Cros-Toure, both 57, allegedly brought the victim from Guinea to Texas in 2000, when she was just 5 years old. She has not been named.

They allegedly then forced the girl to do housework and care for their children, subjecting her to emotional and physical abuse, the Department of Justice said in a press release.

As Robert Spencer noted at the time, “Muhammad bought slaves: “Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported: There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) on migration; he (the Holy Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man).” (Muslim 3901)”

Jihad Watch also noted their conviction in January.

Now their sentence is here.

When she arrived in the US, the West African girl was just five years old, but she soon was responsible for caring for a Texas couple’s children, cooking, cleaning and mowing the lawn. She was abused and neglected for 16 years — until she escaped, according to a criminal complaint against the couple.

The pair has now been sentenced to seven years each in prison and nearly $300,000 in restitution, according to a Monday news release from the Justice Department.

Is 7 years in prison for 16 years of slavery enough?
As the tide of Muslim migration continues to flow, our justice system will have to struggle with questions such as these.
