Journalist Katie Daviscourt ATTACKED by Antifa outside Drag Queen Story Hour in WA

Katie Daviscourt was attacked by Antifa protestors in Renton, Wash. Saturday night, as she documented a Drag Queen Story Hour.

The event was going on at the Brewmaster’s Taproom in Renton, where she was reporting for Rebel News.

“I was robbed by Antifa today reporting on a Drag Queen Story Hour protest in Renton, WA,” Daviscourt tweeted. “The stole my phone after mobbing me. I lost all my footage but luckily the police camera tower will have the robbery on file.”

She thanked fellow journalist Jonathan Choe for having her back.

“Far left activists swarmed her,” Choe reported. Daviscourt borrowed his phone to call police.

“Antifa swarmed me with umbrellas,” Daviscourt said. “Then one of them robbed me, they assaulted me, they stole my phone.”

Daviscourt said there were other journalists on the scene and she asked them for help but they declined. KIRO 7 and King 5 local stations were named by Daviscourt as being on the ground and unwilling to help.

Choe also documented some is the protestors waving Antifa banners and Pride flags. Some Antifa followed Choe as he tried to shoot the surrounding. Others knew Daviscourt by name.

Davis court said about 100 Antifa came to protest, fully masked, carrying walkie-talkies, and generally running security.

The story hour was being held in the “kid and dog-friendly taproom” under the guidance of Marley Rall, who founded the pub. Drag Queen Story Hour is a monthly event, according to King 5.

“I’m, in general, a huge fan of drag,” Rall said. “I’m jealous of the amount of confidence they exude and I also understand a lot of what happens comes from pain and for me, it’s important that we build a very inclusive space for everybody and for everybody to feel they can be their true authentic self and so a big thing for me with the LGBTQIA community is that I want them to know we’re an ally and we’re trying in all different ways to be that and one thing I really feel hinders people is when they live and are raised in a very closed situation.”
