Study finds: Half of Doctors consider leaving medicine.

Researchers at aimed alliance conducted a poll of medical practitioners and found that half are considering leaving the field due to health insurance complications. The study polled over 600 practitioners of family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or obstetics/gynecology. Research found that doctors do not think very highly of insurance companies and believe that companies are putting patients at risk with such policies as prior authorizations ahead of filling prescriptions. 87% of doctors say that patients’ conditions have grown worse because of such red tape regulations.

This is just one of the stressors that doctors are facing through policies implemented by insurance companies. Doctors also face legal challenges because of decisions made by insurers.
