Biden Administration Pauses Deportations For 100 Days

The United States will put some deportations on pause for 100 days under the directive of President Biden.

According to the department of Homeland Security, the pause will take effect on Friday. In a statement, the department said the move was to “ensure we have a fair and effective immigration enforcement system focused on protecting national security, border security, and public safety.”

According to The New York Post, the statement adds that the pause on deportations will help the DHS focus on border security and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Throughout this interim period DHS will continue to enforce our immigration laws,” adds the DHS.
